The Hardest Part

What is the hardest part?  Motivating yourself to move forward when there are no visible results.  Especially when you have invested your all to generate results.

Wow.  Really.  That's it?

Yep, that's it.  The hardest part.  Sooooo, where do you find the strength to move forward when you just want to stop.  Mine comes in the form of a little electronic cat on my phone.

Some time ago, I was feeling frustrated with the results of my efforts and expressed it to my brother (my biggest champion btw).  The next day, I got this video of a "TalkingTom" (some of you may have heard of the App by Outfit 7).   It is an animated cat telling me to keep my head up and to stay focused and moving forward.  It made me laugh and smile.  I played it repeatedly and laughed each time.  It made me feel good that my brother believed in me enough to take the time to send me that bit of encouragement.

I share that to say "Find Your Champion".  That resource you can tap into that lets you know its ok to be discouraged but that you can move past it too. That video is still on my phone. I use it to remind me that while I may get discouraged, I can't stop.  I can take a break but have to continue to move forward.

Thanks Bruce. :-)

Why Am I Doing This?

MY business was birthed from necessity - I needed CASH!

Additionally, the more I did it, the more I realized that the cash was not as important as the service.  Please don't misunderstand, I LOVE getting paid, but as exciting as it was, it did not beat the feeling of accomplishment.

When working with clients, they would say things like, " I really needed your help!" or "Wow, I never thought about it like that".  Seeing the "light bulb" go off with my clients was something that was priceless.  Knowing that they had moved from one step to the next in their business growth helped me understand why I do what I do.

Business coaching is fun for me in helping some clients realize they were not a fit for what they were trying to do too.  Helping them not waste a lot of time pursuing something they felt they "should" do (for whatever reason).  This allowed them to be free to move towards working on operating in their gifts.

Imagine a world where all of us were working in a way that agreed with us. What does that look like for you?

To BIZ or NOT to BIZ

Well, if you have been looking for a job for more than a year and you are over 50, PERHAPS you might want to "BIZ".

Typically, we have these great ideas of how we want to get started owning a company, calling our own shots and keeping all the money that comes in! Then we set the alarm, brush our teeth and go to bed so we won't be late for punching the clock in the morning.

But if you are like a lot of people in this economy, it may be time to REALLY give some serious thought to starting that business you have been thinking about.

As I work with new clients, I often take them through an exercise to help them determine if they have what it takes to make it happen.  Surprisingly, most think that having a lot of money is the most important thing but it's not.  Your mindset matters the most - what you want to do, why you want to do it, who you want to serve.  Everything else is manageable once you have the right mindset.

So what do you think? Wanna get started?
